Affectionately known as “Number One” at Weathered Vineyards because I was the first vine planted.
I was born 2012 in the Finger Lakes region of New York State and relocated to the Lehigh Valley in April 2013. My biological parents are Cayuga and Riesling which make for a lighter, crisp, enjoy-anytime tasting wine. I really like my new home and want to invite you to watch me as I grow with my other 2499 siblings. Zzzzz--I have been asleep for the last few months
So I thought it was it was supposed to be spring already but Mother Nature isn't quite ready to give us the warmth and sunshine needed for our buds to start to show. My roots are sure getting plenty of water though. It has been very cold up here for the last several months but I am looking forward to warmer weather ahead and growing big and strong enough to support grape clusters this season.

The sun feels so good!
Spring has sprung and summer is almost here but who is watching the calendar....me! I am growing and stretching to reach the highest trellis wires. I already have teeny tiny grapes. As you know, this winter was very cold and harsh. I lost a number of my brothers and sisters but this past weekend 600 new vines were planted to replace the ones that did not make it.

My fruit has been picked!
So fall has arrived at Weathered Vineyards and the fruit has been harvested. More than 1200 lbs. of Cayuga-Riesling was picked by friends and family and is on its way into being made wine that should be ready to sample Spring 2015. I will be featured in a white wine called Cirrus.

It was a pleasure to meet so many wonderful new friends this past weekend!
What an amazing weekend. We met so many new friends and many of you asked about me. Rich and Dana were delighted to see such a great turnout for our grand opening. Hope you enjoyed the tastings and festivities. Come back and visit us again soon.

I am stretching my arms to feel the warmth of the sun!
Finally the right weather has arrived and I am feeling alive again. I had a wonderful long winter nap but it is time to get ready for my growing season. Come out to visit and ask Rich and Dana about me.

My time in the vineyard this summer is coming to an end. I have been netted to protect me from the birds that think I am sweet.

Spring is here!
I am all pruned and near ready for the upcoming growing season. All I need now is the warmth of the sun.

My siblings and I had a great growing season. More than 3 tons of us were harvested and are now resting as wine in tanks until spring.

I am waking from my winter slumber. My canes and leaves are starting to reach for the warmth of the sun. BTW...the wine made from my grapes was just released this weekend!

My sugar levels are improving with the recent sunshine. and it's almost time to get picked. I will likely be harvested either this weekend and made into Cirrus.
